Understanding Account Suspensions
A suspension is different from a deactivated account — here's the difference and what to do about it.
Deactivation vs. Suspension
These are two completely separate things:
- Deactivation happens automatically when someone never confirms their email — nothing to do with anything they posted. See that guide if this is you.
- Suspension means the team (or our spam-and-fake-account checks) flagged something about the account — usually a guideline violation or suspicious activity.
If You've Been Suspended
You'll see a suspension notice when you try to log in. If you think this happened by mistake, email [email protected] with your username and any details that might help — a real person will take a look.
Why Was I Flagged?
We watch for things like spam, fake or duplicate accounts, and content people have reported for breaking community guidelines. Real accounts occasionally get caught up by mistake — that's exactly why you can always ask us to double-check.
